Challenge 2013

First of all, Happy New Year!
I hope you're all staying cozy warm like some I know.

Secondly. . . and this is important,
Huck and Sandy have a challenge for you.

Well, first they'd like for you to look at this page.
Did you see it?
They are very excited to share the news with you!
So here's the challenge. . .
They are concerned about who their offspring will go to.
They would like that we keep the advertising to a minimum right now as far as putting it out there for everyone on a big Puppy For Sale website.
So we thought we'd let our Finley River Retriever viewers know and see if word will spread just from you and this blog.
So, share the website, mention it to people, invite them to join the facebook page, etc.
I feel like we've built a pretty good team out there, just look at that facebook group!!!
Those of you who frequently go in public with one of our pups are already advertising!
So, can we do it?!?!

Good.
Huck and Sandy can rest easy.

Unless those boys come in and freak Huck out.

Oh, those two!
They're excited for February!

Favorites of 2012

I have narrowed my favorite photos of 2012 down.
Actually, no I haven't...there's like 100 on this post.
2012 was an amazing year.
It was our "Charter" year.
We had 3 litters of puppies.
We met some wonderful people.
I'm going to get all mushy on you.
Here are some of my favorite photos I captured this year in no particular order.

Our first litter, taken back in March.  They were just starting to open their eyes.

Funny how after 21 puppies I can still recognize some of them.
This is Linus.

Daddy's curious about the little creatures.

Sandy loved this first litter of Candy's.
She was always around them.

Got this shot of Mac at the river.
I think it's a great pose!

Love this one because it's what the dogs
do every, single time they hear that tailgate
drop.

On my favorite list because you can always count on someone being happy to see you!

I remember taking this one on the March litter's 6 week birthday.

This one shows how happy they are when we let them out!

Not a great quality photo but I love the ears in the air!

They were so curious about the sprinkler that day.

This was on the day that our last puppy left.
Can't you see the relief?

Candy hit the spa.

Apolla posed on this rock for me.
I was so appreciative, I used this photo as my cover photo on our
facebook page.

This was Apolla and Annie when she was a little pup
in the canoe at the river.

Here's Apolla again, she was a natural!

And again.
Believe it or not, I didn't post every picture I've ever taken.
In fact, you can find more of Apolla at the river here.

Here's my son feeding Sandy his waffles when
she was great with-child (with-puppies?).
He'll make a good husband someday.

Aww, I love these!
This is Sandy's litter.

I like to think my son is saying something like "There, there little puppy."  But, I doubt it, he's probably making engine noises or something.

I took these one day when the boys seemed to be getting along well...at the expense of the puppies of course.

They're so fascinated with them when they are this tiny.  I love watching them with the puppies!

This has nothing to do with the puppies but I took
this one day when we rode horses at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield.
It was fun, so I posted it okay?

This reminds me of the hot summer we had and how much our dogs love the water.

Here's Huck again with Kate (the boys named her Kissy).

And Sandy with Kate.

Oh, that Kate, she was a cute one!

Here she is again.  She made some little girl very happy on her birthday!

Another reminder of the heat.
I think I put this on facebook and the caption was,
"It's SOOOO Hot!!"

My crazy boy.

My crazy boy feeding Leo leaves.

The puppies tried keeping cool in their dog water.

Another trip to the river.

Huck and Sandy relaxing and keeping an eye on their pups.

This would be cuter if it were upright.
This was Bubby Girl when we delivered her to Virginia.

Bubby Girl got to visit the Kentucky Horse Park with us!

And I finally got a chance to visit the Biltmore, thanks to Bubby Girl!

And the boys got to see the ocean!

Then I ran out of stuff to blog about so I took these one day.

And I ended up really liking them, too.

But then our October litter was born and
I had material again!

Puppies again!

I especially like looking at this picture now, when it's cold and everything is dormant and ugly.

Kisses

My son and Kirby

No puppies on this one.  This was our fall hayride.

Halloween day

The day I had nothin' better to do than to dress
up the dogs.

More kisses.

This is a good memory of the many, many days my son rolled around in the yard with the puppies.

Another reminder of the choke hold they all received.
(I wonder if his my son's tooth with grow in in 2013.  It's been gone since April.)

Love this of Sandy and Buttercup.

The pups found out they were too big to fit through the fence anymore.

And finally...Fin.

And if you have nothing better to do on this New Years Day, here are some posts that I liked...

Lessons My Boys Taught the Puppies

Thank you so much for your support this year!  This crazy business of ours took off faster and better than we ever imagined.  This silly little blog I started in April has had almost 12,000 views!  We feel like we have new friends who are also the owners of our pups.  We have friends of ours who now own one of our pups.  We have friends, family, and people we hardly know following us on here.  2012 was a great year for Finley River Retrievers.
I wonder what 2013 has in store.

Happy New Year!
