Christmas Hustle

The puppies are getting so big and cute!

They'll be 3 weeks old tomorrow already!
As you can see, they're getting wrapped up in the holiday hustle and bustle too.

They've got a lot on their minds.
In the midst of a crazy week of running around I've looked over at them several times and thought how nice it would be to be a puppy.

And speaking of Christmas, Finley River Retrievers will be working on Christmas Day.

That's right, we have a couple families hauling their children out the to the "farm" (I quoted it because it's hardly a farm and if my cattle-running, chicken raising, neighbors see this they'd laugh if I called our property with a few horses and a million dogs a farm) to surprise them with picking out a puppy.
We are excited to do it!  I hope to get good pictures of their faces and anticipate this being a great Christmas for a few families!

We can't wait!

Winter Puppies!

The temps have dropped here.

The snow and sleet came down for a couple days.

But we have a warm, cozy house with 9 new
puppies!

They are warm, and sleepy, and loud!

And Annie is exhausted.

But she's good too!
She's getting lots of food and love, and not being made to go out very often.
Except sometimes I think she'd rather be out in the cold than in with them all up on her.

But who would keep this little baby warm if Annie stayed out?
I'll tell ya who....Candy!

She weasled her way in here last night while Annie was outside.
Notice the one trying to nurse.
Sorry puppy, the well is dry.

But it's good to know there's someone else willing to take care of them.

They are very sweet, and growing every day!

My dirty boys are happy to keep them comfortable too!
Meanwhile, the boys went sledding.

I jumped on for little while too.

Penny helped pull up the rear.

Huck and Candy pouted because they were still locked in the yard.

So we let them out!
(Except that's not Candy, it's Dolly)

The Countdown to Puppies is On!

Our dog, Annie is in the final days of her pregnancy...obviously.
It's unfortunate that it had to turn cold outside and she stays in most of the time.
My son won't leave her alone.

Luckily Penny is always close by to chew on his arm and distract him.

But then Annie distracts her.

Poor Annie.

Poor, poor Annie.
At least you know we love you.
Annie is due at the end of the week.  Check the facebook page for updates.

1 year old

I'd like to apologize for never updating my blog anymore.  I really miss it.  I don't have adequate internet or patience for the inadequate internet to do it right now.
So I started this post last week on this litter's actual birthday.  But I'm just now finishing.
It's not much, but at least it's something different from the puppy for sale that left months ago.
It was one year ago that these little fellas were born.

I thought that since I have no internet or way of uploading new pictures, I'd reflect on the ones I do have.

And since the Cardinals are in the playoffs again this year, I thought I'd throw this one in as well.

We had some good times with these guys...
I sure hope they turned out okay??

I seriously do. Voting stickers?? Really?

They sure were cute, whether they turned out good or not!
And we sure enjoyed playing with them!

Seeing this makes me ready for more.

Puppy For Sale!

Meet Bo.
He's cute, huh?
And lucky for you, he's for sale!
His original buyer had some stuff come up and now isn't a good time for him to care for a puppy.
And I can respect that.
So while we've grown attached to this last little puppy, those of you who have been out here know we have no business keeping him!
He's really sweet though.
And lovable.
And happy.
So spread the word!
There's no waiting for this one, he's ready to go now!!!

The End of the Puppy Chaos

 The puppy craziness is over.
It wasn't easy this time, many of you know that.

We no longer have puppies everywhere we look.

Our mama dogs can relax a little now.

They spend their time laying around in the yard.

My gladiolas are starting to come back again.
Wait...no they're not.

But then I look at pictures like this...and it makes me miss them.

And deep down, I'd say Annie misses them too.

Our shoes aren't disappearing anymore.

Lot's of people have enjoyed the puppies.  This is  my cousin from Colorado.
Trevor, however, has not enjoyed them.

My son, again, had a hard time parting with them. . .

Trevor, did not.

My 84 year old grandma said she'd never seen so many puppies together in all her life!
Glad I could give ya something else to see in your lifetime, Grandma!
My niece, is always happy to come help with the puppies too.
I plan to post pictures of all the new owners.  But there's a lot of new owners, and I only have so much time today.  So soon, I promise, I will.  The puppies and their new owners, once again, have blessed us beyond measure.
