Sunday Afternoon for the Finley River Retrievers

This is one exhausted mama!

I think this is Mia.
You can always find them playing
around this tree.

Lazy Sunday afternoon. . .

But as soon as they heard the
tailgate drop, they were
ready to jump in!

Because it meant we were going
to the river!

And today we introduced Mac,
Nikki, and Lightning to the
water!

Mac loved it right away!

Lightning and Nikki
had to explore a little more first.

Mac, loving his life!

It looks like Nikki is biting
my son's shirt but I don't think
that's the case.

I like this one, if only it were a video...
Mac is back there barking and growling
ferociously at that big rock!

Mac

Charge!!!  The response we got
when we returned.

Bigger Every Day!

My boys and I have spent the last couple days outside with the puppies.  Well, we've spent a lot more than a couple days out there with them.  They are just so fun to watch.  Although I'm afraid some of you may have some 'lap dogs' on your hands!
Their schedule goes as follows:

They get out in the yard and explore everything and everyone.
(Hollie and Sandy)

Then they fight with each other.
(Nikki and Lightning)

Then they get  hungry.
(Hollie and Mater, who always lays down when he eats)

Then they find something to lay under and get as close together as possible.
(Sally, Lightning, Finn)

Then they lose the strength to play and begin getting sleepy.
(Bear)

...and sleepier (if that's a word)
(Lightning)

After a little nap they might get up and play a little more...
(Lightning and Sally)

...and eat a little more.
(Mia)

But mostly, they're too sleepy for a good part of the day to do much of anything.

We have had a fun weekend with the puppies!  Lots of visitors came to chose the one they will take home in a few weeks!  It is so fun to meet their future owners!  I've updated their pictures again on the Available Puppies link.
The puppies are getting so cute and curious!

I couldn't stop at just one picture of them.

They love their Aunt Sandy!

The place is getting crazy when we let them all out!

Luckily there are plenty of adults to watch over them!

Welcome to our blog about our Golden Retrievers.  Our goal is to provide loving homes that all Goldens deserve.  We created this blog so that future owners could see where their pups and their pups' parents live.  Our dogs are our pets.  Our kids play with them, they go to the river with us, they go on walks, and they get to run free on our 20 acre farm regularly.

We have had three dogs, one being a Golden Retriever, for around seven years.  But last spring we decided to initiate the breeding process and purchased three AKC registered Golden Retrievers.  We raised them and delivered our first litter in the wee hours of March 21 and 22!

Finally got a picture of all the puppies individually.  Check them out here.  Puppies are still available but this weekend looks like several will be coming to choose the one they will be taking home with them in a few weeks.

I spent a good part of the day yesterday trying to photograph each individual puppy.  I still have 3 to go.  Check out the six I got at the Available Puppy link!  If anyone notices a trend in the choice of names, my boys named them.  They have an obsession with the Cars movies!

My son thought this was a great idea!

Our First Litter!

We have 5 males and 4 females.  One male is spoken for.

This is their mother, Candy.  She is a medium color and medium size.

Some of them look as though they'll have the sire's dark red color.

These puppies should be ready for their permanent homes by mid-May!
