Happy Halloween!

I wanted to title this "Why My Husband is a Lucky Guy" but I thought since it was Halloween I'd make it an obvious title.  Plus, I'm sure I'll have plenty of reasons throughout the year that I could use the other title for but Halloween only comes once a year.
Here's why I wanted to call this post "Why My Husband is a Lucky Guy"...
Today I decided that the best thing I could do with my afternoon was dress up the dogs, and puppies, and kids and take their pictures.
My husband comes home from being gone since 6:30 am and the conversation goes like this...
Sam: "So what did you do today?"
Me:  "I'm tired, it was a pretty busy day.  Luke had his Fall party at preschool then they went trick or treating around town."
Sam: "Oh.  So what time did you get home?"
Me: "Uh, like 11:15."
Sam: "Cool. So what else did you do."
Me: "Well, I wanted to take pictures of the dogs, puppies, and the boys dressed up. I'll show you!"
Sam:  "So where are the costumes?"
Me:  "Well, some of the dogs ran off in them."

Sam: "So where's the boys' costumes?"
Me: "Oh, yeah, they didn't want to put them on.  They just wanted to use their teeth they got at the party today."
Sam: "Your eyes are closed."
Me: "Thanks, I hadn't noticed."
Sam: "Cool.  So what else did you do today?"
Me: "Wait, I'm not done."
Sam: "Why is Sandy dressed like a dog?"
Me:  "It's her costume."
Sam: "But she is a dog."
Me: "Oh, thanks, I hadn't noticed."
Sam:  "So what else did you do today?"
Me:  "What do you mean?"
Sam: "Well, is there anything to eat?"

Me: "Huh? Oh, well, I was tired after this.  It took forever, then I had to chase down the dogs to get the costumes off.  And by that time the boys were grouchy so we just came in and laid down."
Sam: "Seriously, is that all you did today?"
Me:  "What?  That was hard work."

However, lucky for him, I played this whole conversation out in my head before he got home.  So this conversation never actually happened because I got my act together and actually did something with the rest of the day.  But I know this is what could have very easily been said.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

  2. I'm not sure who I ended up with. The boys were bringing them in and out of the pictures.

  3. Reading this gave me a good laugh. Your retrievers are so adorable! We are also planning to get one, as a surprise for our son on his birthday this week. We’ve arranged a great birthday party for him at the event venue Atlanta a few blocks away from our place. Then we’ll take him to a dog shelter the next day to adopt a puppy.
