Turkey Trot Photos

Sam thought I should put some pictures up from our
Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
I kind of figure no one really cares.
But I took pictures so I guess I won't let them go to waste.

Here's Dolly and Annie before we started.
We had to hold them back.
Several dogs made an appearance.

Have you ever watched the beginning on 101
Dalmations?
The part where Pongo is looking out the window at
all the ladies walking their dogs?
And the dogs resemble their owners?

Well, that's what the dogs at the race reminded me of.
Although this means nothing since I didn't get
any pictures of their owners.
I must have been running too fast.
This brown dog looks like he has the "Little Man Syndrome."
I think he's laughing at the border collie with the muzzle.
This guy kind of looked like his owner...
strong, big, fast.
Although I can't help but notice, it looks like I'm passing him.

I don't know how these little dogs did it.
No wonder we passed this one.
Another little one Annie would like to tackle...
and pass.
This was Annie at the end.  I had to drag her
across the finish line.
Dolly and Sam came in shortly after.  Dolly was
even more exhausted than Annie.
But she's about 8 years older, too.
And still carrying around some holiday weight (from the past 8 years).
And some of her baby weight (from her
litter she had back in 2006).

Thanksgiving

Good Morning!
I wanted to put a post up from the Turkey Trot we did on Thanksgiving morning but my pictures wouldn't upload.
So instead, I put up pictures of what was going on when Sam and I returned home from the run.

First of all, my boys were looking good.  That's
all I will say.

Here's Red collar.
We've started calling him Scruffy because
he looks like a Scruffy to me.

Here's my Black Friday shopper getting ready.

"Look out, puppies!"

Notice how Candy is stepping in front of her puppies.
What a good momma!

Now she's rushing them off to safety.
Oh, good!
Looks like he's stopped.

They're going to play it safe and run from him anyway.
Oh, no.
This can't turn out well.

Don't do it!

He did it.
But no one got hurt.
Those puppies can move pretty fast if they need to.

He lost interest in the puppies when he saw Sam pushing my other son.  No one can swing them as high as Dad.

The puppies are very thankful for their mommy.

My son was thankful for his dessert.

When we got home, we put up Christmas decorations and made hot chocolate.  This was the best I could do on a picture.
What is wrong with these two?!

Then they went outside and let the puppies tackle them!

Finley's last Day

Last night was Finley's last night.

My son wanted to spend some extra time with her. . . in his pajamas.

He loves these puppies.  He and Finley really bonded.
Hoss' mom sent a blanket for the puppies to lay on so when she took him home, he'd have a blanket that smelled like the barn.
Finley got the ratty old towel there.
Here are her new owners!

I think she'll fit in well with them!

My weird son in his aviator goggles got a little emotional when they were leaving with her.

Finley's owners also delivered a present to Huck and Candy from Mowgli (a pup from their first litter).
But the tag says not to open it til Christmas.
They are so excited!

I apologize for not updating in almost a week.
I feel really bad that the last post people have to look at is the one of all of them going to the bathroom.
I haven't had much time to sit down and put new pictures up.
But that doesn't mean I haven't been taking any.
I've taken tons.
So many I didn't know where to start.
My computer uploads faster if I just put a few pictures at a time up. So that's what I did.  I just clicked on some here and there, waited on them to upload and then did a few more.  They showed up in every random place throughout this post.  And once they're there, it's difficult for me to move them.  So here are my random pictures from the week. . .

I think this is purple collar looking cute, or scared because my youngest is coming maybe?

I love a good pile-o-puppies picture.

Here's Kirby getting his 6 week shot.  The rest of them got one too.
Here's Kirby again.
I took this and many others on a day they were running in every direction.  It was going to be called "BAD PUPPIES."

This one too.  They can't just play in the yard.

See what I mean?
They have to venture out to the field.
BAD PUPPIES!
They also like to see what they can get into in the barn.
But they're so cute here I don't know that it would have made the "BAD PUPPIES" post.
On Thanksgiving morning, Sam and I took Annie and Dolly on the Turkey Trot in Springfield.

This is them after the race.
They did so well, but they were so tired by the end.
This didn't show up in the right order but here's Dolly and Sam running the race with more than 8,000 others who signed up too.

So there's a little update for you.  I'll try to put more up later.  I hope you're enjoying your holiday.  We consider all of you a blessing to be thankful for.

Bowel Movement Monday

I wanted to be real here with you this morning.  I don't know what this blog thing looks like to people who have never been here before or even met us.  But when I look at it, I think,
"Looks like a nice place.
"
See, that's the goal.  No one wants to know about all the pictures I have to delete or crop down to nothing...
Or do you?
For example,
this one is okay of my son and the puppies milling around at his feet.
But...look toward the top of the photo.

This one's even better.

And here,
super cute picture of Millie (who the boys call Jingles).
Not so much of the one in the back (Jaxon, maybe?)

And I have my boys help me clean out the barn every morning.
And my son always happily obliges.
And he doesn't get close ups taken of him often because he's always got "the snots."

So there you have it.  It's not all perfect around here like I know it may seem ;)
Tons of pictures never make the blog.  It's better that way.

Saturday Mornings Aren't All About the Puppies

Ok, so it's not a puppy.
It's Buttercup.
We like her and she likes us.
I think this deserves a picture on the blog.

This isn't a puppy either.
It's Ponky.
My son named her.
We like her too.

Nope, still no puppies.
But I like this picture of Sandy and Buttercup so it's going up on the blog too.

Not puppies anymore.
This is Huck, Annie, and Candy coming back from their morning run and swim in the pond.
Cute like puppies,
but still not puppies.

It's the boys and their cousin.
Well, my niece is cute.  My boys are strange.

Now for the puppies!
Double cuteness, my niece and Pink Collar.

My son and Jaxon

They like my son, he lays on the ground with them.
I prefer sitting in a chair.
They'd rather me lay on the ground.
But with 9 puppies running around, I don't know what's in or on the ground.
Wait, yes I do.
That's why I prefer a chair.

Not the boys though.
They can't be bothered.
That's why the puppies love them.

Kirby and Green Collar

Red Collar and Purple Collar fighting like brother and sister.
Wait, they are...
nevermind.

Hoss and Kirby like playing with the big dogs.

Happy Saturday Everyone!
And Happy 6 Week Birthday tomorrow, Puppies!
